Who is the richest gay man in the world? It’s no news that the LGBTQ community has been a long-time victim of discrimination, but it’s still shocking to hear how much money some people have.

According to Forbes, 0.4% of prominent men have declared gay, transgender, and lesbian. 

The richest gay men in the world are not only among the most successful and wealthiest people in the world but also very handsome or beautiful.

They have fortified in different industries, including finance, business, real estate, tech, fashion, law, sports, entertainment, science, technology, medicine, and politics.

The Richest Gay Man is David Geffen

David Geffen is the founder of Geffen Records and Asylum Records, plus the co-founder of DreamWorks Film Studio. 

David created Asylum Records with Elliot Roberts in 1971. He opened other records in 1980, such as Geffen’s and DGC Records in 1990.

He’s the proud owner of DreamWorks film studios, which produces most of our favorite cartoons.

Out magazine announced his sexuality to the public in 2007. Today, he’s one of the top gay billionaires in the world, with an incredible net worth of $10.7 billion, a $2 billion art collection, and real estate.

1. Giorgio Armani

The next richest gay man is Giorgio Armani, a world-class Italian fashion designer with a whopping net worth of $7 billion. 

In 1980, his career took a tremendous turn to success when he became the fashion designer for Richard Gere.

Giorgio keeps the money flowing through several luxury hotels, sports, and music investments. You could say he’s a man of his mind.

Despite being a homosexual, he criticized gay men who dress as women with the excuse that they’re the “Lady” in the relationship.

He proclaimed, “A man should be a man,” which earned him little backlash. But it never affected his business; instead, he kept getting richer.

In 2000, Giorgio declared he was homosexualist in an interview with Vanity Fair but never specified his particular sexuality.

2. Peter Thiel

The next name on our richest gay man list boasts a whopping $3.4 billion. He rose to fame after founding a data analytics company for Facebook and co-founding PayPal, an online platform for exchanging money. 

Peter became the CEO of PayPal before eBay took over the company. In 2004, he amassed a 10.2% stake for just $500,000.

This significant move provided a startling return on investment (ROI). To this day, people find it confusing that Peter Thiel supported Kris Kobach. Kris Kobach was a republican candidate who was also an antagonist to marriage equality and the LGBTQ community.

Peter Thiel is a successful venture capitalist, entrepreneur, and business executive. He’s a billionaire, married to Matt Danzeisen, his husband, and they live together as a couple in Los Angeles.

3. Jon Stryker

Jon Stryker is an architect and an activist for the LGQBT community with a net worth of $4.1 billion.

After becoming the CEO of Stryker Corp back in the 1980s, he has worked effortlessly to take the company to greater heights.

The medical supply company sold pieces of equipment worth $14.9 billion in 2019, and the company is still standing and making waves today.

Apart from being gay, the founder of the Arcus Foundation fights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender questioning (LGBTQ). He’s a philanthropist who has donated an enormous $550 million. 

4. Stein Erik Hagen

Stein Erik is the fourth richest gay man on our list. His rise to fame started in 1977 when he co-founded the RIMI supermarket with his dad.

His main drive is investments and entrepreneurship, which are the major sources of his wealth. Stein Erik Hagen is one of the main shareholders in the Norwegian company Orkla.

He also has jaw-dropping shares in other companies such as Komplett, Jernia, Steen, and Strom. Canica, his family company, owns the Komplett company.

On a fateful day in 2015, the business mogul declared he was bisexual and that he didn’t understand his sexuality until he became an adult. Most noteworthy, Stein Erik Hagen is $2.5 billion richer at the moment. 

5. Jennifer Pritzker

Formally known as James Pritzker is one of the most influential and rich gay men in the world. The transgender billionaire publicly declared her sexuality in 2013.

James is now a woman, investor, and philanthropist at the top of the business world with a heart of gold.

Jennifer Pritzker owns the classic Hyatt chain of hotels. She is a Republican and financially supports various Republicans, such as Donald Trump and Joe Biden.

At first, she supported Donald, but when Trump went against the LGBTQ, she stopped supporting him and voted for Joe Biden instead, who supports LGBTQ.

As an active supporter and member of the homosexual community, she has provided much funding for the smooth running and progress of the community.

In total, Jennifer Pritzker has $2 billion to her name. She also boasts of being the first to come out as transgender.

6. Domenico Dolce

Domenico Dolce is sixth on our other prominent fashion designers list.

He owns the popular luxury brand Dolce & Gabbana, which he founded with his former boyfriend and business partner, Stefano Gabbana.

Their relationship later suffered a major setback when Dolce declared that the children given birth through the IVF process were fake.

He went further to say, “I am gay, and I cannot have a child, and I believe you cannot have everything in life… You are born from a father and a mother. Or at least that is how it should be.

This hit the LGBTQ community badly, especially those who believed in the IVF process. Nevertheless, he publicly apologized for saying such words in 2015.

These former lovers were given a 20-month suspended sentence in jail when they refused to pay taxes, a cumulative sum of millions of euros.

Despite all of these setbacks, Domenico Dolce is among the richest gay men in the world. He has a whopping $1.9 billion to his name.
