Plane lemonade is simply lemon juice and water with a bit of sugar (if you want). Although I’m not a big fan of the traditional kind, I do like the new-fangled stuff made with fresh lemons and natural sugar. It has a nice tartness, which makes me feel better about drinking it.
The key is to use fresh lemons and lots of them. If you don’t have access to fresh lemons, bottled lemon juice will work in a pinch.
You should also add some simple syrup or honey for sweetness. This recipe is based on my personal preference. Feel free to adjust as you see fit!
- 1/2 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 1 cup cold water
To make this type of lemonade, mix lemon juice and water in a small pot. Bring mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, remove from heat and let cool completely. Stir in salt.
