An avocado is one fruit that has multiple purposes that includes medicine and beauty but many people do not see the reason why they should include it to their fruit basket.

1. Avocado as shaving cream
It is no surprise that people complain of skin irritation after using some store bought shaving creams. This reason for most of the skin reactions that happen as a result of shaving cream use of skin sensitivity to the chemicals used in the production of the cream.
Avocado is a natural option that contains vitamin A and E which are very essential vitamins for a healthy skin.
To make an avocado shaving cream, get one ripe avocado fruit and cut it open. Remove the seed and the flesh from the skin than put the flesh into your blender and blend till you get a paste like consistency.
Before you shave, apply some of the paste to the area just the way you would apply your store bought shaving cream then go ahead with your shaving.

A lot of people suffer from cracked lips all year round because they do not pay attention to nourishing their lips. While store bought lip balms are great at helping to soften your lips, going natural is always a better option as you are sure of what your DIY lip balm contains.
Because the skin on the lips are thin, it is very easy for wrinkles to form around it. Avocados can make your lips soft and full because they contain oleic acid.
To make your avocado lip balm, mix half of the flesh of a ripe avocado fruit with one teaspoon of olive oil. Mash both ingredients with a spoon till you get a paste then apply around and on your lips. leave the mixture on your lips for Thirty minutes they rinse with cold water.
To exfoliate dead skin cells from your lips, apply only a small quantity of the mixture to your lips and allow to sit for fifteen minutes then gently scrub your lips with your index finger in a back and forth motion till the dead skin cells are eliminated.
You can repeat this procedure two to three times weekly for quicker and more appealing result.
3. Avocado face exfoliant
There are many natural things that work as marvelous exfoliants for the face. However, the reason avocado is most preferred by some people including me, is that it contains vitamin-E and niacin which are very vital to help preserve the youthfulness and beauty of your skin.
To make an avocado exfoliant for your face, you have to make a mixture of two tablespoons oatmeal powder, one large type avocado pulp, and one tablespoon of raw honey (Manuka honey is also a good option).
Once the ingredients have been combined and well mixed, apply on your face and exfoliate gently in circular motions. Allow the mixture to sit in your skin for at least fifteen minutes then rinse with warm water. Repeat at most twice weekly and watch how your skin begins to glow and have a healthy appearance.
4. Avocado anti-stretch mark cream

Vitamin C and E are contained in avocados and they help tighten the skin and get rid of stretch marks.
Mix the pump of one big ripe avocado with one tablespoon of almond oil. Once the cream in ready, massage into your skin and let it sit for about 35 minutes before you rinse it with warm water. You can repeat this up to three of four times weekly for best results.
5. Avocado treatment for under your eyes
Dark circles and eye bags can be really embarrassing. These two beauty problems happen due to a eye inflammation or poor blood flow around the eyes.

Apply the paste from the root of your hair to the tip section by section till the whole hair is covered then allow to sit for thirty minutes and then rinse with warm water only. Repeat this process for times weekly (i.e every two days).
7. Avocado bath soap
If you would like to try your hands on some soap projects, then the avocado bath soap is a great one to try. Avocado soap with not only clean your skin, it goes the extra mile to moisturise it and leave you feeling good after a bath.
To make an avocado bath soap you will need 30 ml of almond oil, 130 ml of olive oil,130 ml of coconut oil,45 ml of water, 150 ml of avocado oil, 65 ml of lye, and 45 ml of water.
Mix the 45 ml of water and 65 ml of lye in one pan and combine the other ingredients in another pan. Heat the pan containing all the ingredients except the water and lye for about 15 mins then leave to cool at room temperature.
Combine the water and lye with the other ingredients and mix very well as you add a few drops of mint essential oil. Once you are done, poor the mixture into different moulds and keep in the refrigerator for at least two days.
